While it’s undeniably still lacking some of the polish of commercial packages (then again, Traktor doesn’t exactly have the shiniest of interfaces), Mixxx looks like it’s really arrived at the party this time.

mixman-dm2 has no bugs, it has no vulnerabilities, it has a Permissive License and it has low support. But nearly all of those quibbles have been addressed in this new release, including: mixman-dm2 is a C++ library typically used in Audio, Audio Utils applications. Mixxx had, until now, lacked a few features which for me at least meant it didn’t really get its foot in the door. Do the new features make Mixxx a contender? Select Start/Programs/DM²/Start DM² from the Wi ndows® taskbar. Be sure the DM2 controller is plugged into the computer’s USB port. (The CD -ROM is needed only if you selected a custom install and have not installed all the Track Files). For that reason alone it has to be worth serious consideration. Insert the DM2 CD-ROM disc into your drive. Decent versions of all the top packages will set you back a couple of hundred big ones, and this can do the job for free.
